POSITION SUMMARY
A Relief Driver- CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck and providing prompt, courteous and complete waste removal services for customers. The driver must ensure the vehicle complies with company safety standards, follows all state and federal regulations, and completes daily vehicle condition reports (VCRs) to address any defects.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform thorough pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections to verify tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls.
- Safely operate the truck on assigned routes, read route sheets, and service each customer accurately.
- Operate manual or automatic controls to lift and load refuse, use the compactor, and dispose of collected material at the designated facility.
- Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and colleagues to ensure timely and professional service.
- Identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers per departmental procedures.
- Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and clean any accidental spills in accordance with safety standards.
- Maintain vehicle readiness by cleaning waste from the packer blade and truck body, and by reporting any operational issues.
- Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs, and other reports.
- Meet productivity and safety standards, and actively participate in the company’s ReSOP program.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

- Preferred:
Two years of prior commercial truck driving experience.
- Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License with air brakes endorsement.
