Compensation

$60,000 to $70,000 annually.

Performance incentive: $450 per quarter with $200 kicker; $2,000 if all quotas are satisfied.

Sign‑on bonus: $5,000 (terms apply – individuals who have worked for a Performance Food Group owned company within the last six months are not eligible).

Schedule & Hours

Sunday – Friday, 1–3 trips dispatching between 2:30 pm and 12 am depending on load.

Training

2 weeks of training in Temple, TX.

Position Purpose

As a Shuttle Driver, you will transport empty trailers to operating company warehouse locations and deliver full trailers to domicile or shuttle yard locations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform required safety checks, including pre‑/post‑trip inspections of tractor, truck, and trailer per DOT regulations.
  • Report all safety issues and/or required repairs.
  • Follow DOT regulations and company safe‑driving guidelines; report hazards immediately.
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
  • Ensure all required route paperwork is present and available upon dispatch.
  • Drive and deliver trailers according to predetermined route schedule.
  • Perform hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
  • Park and store tractor trailers in designated areas.
  • Ensure all equipment and freight are locked or secured.
  • Collect and secure damaged goods and customer returns in empty trailer; check in at base facility; complete necessary paperwork.
  • Unload all equipment, materials, and remove trash from trailers as required.
  • Complete daily record of hours of service; log per Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading‑dock area; keep trailers clear and clean as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent experience.
  • 6–12 months of commercial driving experience.
  • Valid CDL A with Doubles endorsement.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past three years.
  • Work required on 3rd shift schedule, Sunday–Thursday nights (schedule may vary).
  • Pass pre‑employment drug test.
  • Pass road test.
  • Valid current DOT Health Card and/or ability to secure a new DOT Health Card.
  • Able to hand‑lift and utilize two‑wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight; product generally ranges from approximately 60–90 pounds.
