Warehouse Attendant
An essential role in the fabrication industry that focuses on organizing and maintaining stock storage areas.
Job DescriptionPerforms duties to organize and maintain the assigned stock storage area.
Work ScheduleVaries by location. Must have open availability any time, any day of the week. Length of employment is limited to job assignment and/or project duration.
Essential Skills- Prepares materials for shipping and loads them onto trucks.
- Laces and organizes different types of material throughout the stock storage area to prevent damage and keeps track of them.
- Cleans stock storage area of debris and other materials that could be a safety hazard.
- Maintains equipment by greasing, oiling and ensuring they are in working order.
- Maintains an active list of tools and material checked out by employees.
- Maintains stock storage for at least 30 minutes after the work is completed.
- Uses the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
- Works within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
- Follows oral and written directions.
- Works within company policy as outlined in the Samuel EPC Craft Handbook and maintains compliance with both the Samuel EPC Human Resources Policy Manual and the Samuel EPC Safety Manual.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the foreman/supervisor as needed.
- 3+ months of industrial/construction/general labor experience.
- Able to identify governing requirements and codes for safety and ensure that the company complies with all regulations.
- Prior warehousing or stock storage experience and knowledge of the operations of various construction equipment and materials.
- Ability to work with others to achieve job goals.
- Read, write and communicate using the English language sufficient to perform job functions (other preferences will be given for special language skills where there is a business need).
- Sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.
- Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects.
- Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects.
- See well (naturally or with correction).
- Eye–hand coordination.
- Good physical fitness.
- Good sense of balance.
- Steel‑toed work boots.
- Raincoat or poncho.
- 25' steel measuring tape.
Construction workers perform physically demanding work including lifting and carrying heavy objects, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling in awkward positions. Some work at great heights or outdoors in all weather conditions. With some projects, work exposure to harmful or hazardous materials, chemicals, fumes, odors, lead‑based paints, asbestos, loud noise, or dangerous machinery may exist. To avoid injury, workers wear safety clothing such as gloves, hard hats, protective chemical suits, and devices to protect their eyes, respiratory system, or hearing.
While working underground or in confined spaces, construction workers must be especially alert to safely follow procedures and must deal with a variety of hazards.
