OpTek Systems is a global supplier of laser processing tools and sub-contract laser machining services.

This is a hands-on entry-level role within our Build team. You'll help to assemble and wire electrical components based on assembly models and engineering instructions.

Essential

Responsibilities and Duties:

Reporting to the Build Supervisor, responsibilities for this role include:

  • Assembling bespoke machinery from start to finish based on schematic and layout drawings.
  • Fitting, wiring, and building laser precision machinery.
  • Installing electrical components according to schematics.
  • Performing electrical wiring based on schematics and drawings.
  • Utilizing hand tools, measuring equipment, hand drills, and pillar drills.
  • Working efficiently to meet strict deadlines.
  • Collaborating with other departments to meet project deadlines and quality standards.

Additionally, the role may involve other duties and responsibilities as appropriate for the position.

Role Requirements:

  • Aptitude to read schematics, electrical diagrams and technical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail, able to work accurately in a high-precision environment
  • Aptitude to use hand and power tools such as wire strippers/crimpers, spanners and power drills etc.
  • Good time management
  • Quality assurance identifying faulting finding and repairs

Education and/or

Experience:

  • Aptitude towards electrical and mechanical engineering demonstrated through related GCSE’s, BTEC or A levels.
  • Experience in an engineering environment building electro-mechanical equipment desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
  • Experience in installation of electrical control cabinets, machine assembly and working with 3D models and electrical drawings desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
