Transferee (and rejoiner) Special Constable (Volunteer Police Officer) – Forcewide

Abingdon, Amersham, Aylesbury, Banbury, Bicester, Bracknell, Didcot, High Wycombe, Loddon Valley, Maidenhead, Milton Keynes, Newbury, Oxford, Reading, Slough, Witney.

• Attested as a Special Constable.
• Completed at least 50 hours of response policing.
• Live within 20 miles of at least one Thames Valley Police station.
• If any of these criteria are not met, apply as a new mainstream Special Constable.

• Submit an application to TVP and the national transferee application form through your current force.
• Selection interview.
• Pre-appointment checks: medical, references, vetting, and a fitness test.
• Training needs analysis; those not independent patrol qualified may need to undertake full initial training again.
• Process timeframe: 3-6 months.

• Minimum of 18 hours per month.
• Duty schedule agreed in advance; hours are flexible.
