Summary:
Responsible for patient care, examinations may include but is not limited to routine echocardiograms, general and vascular ultrasounds while under the direction and/or supervision of a registered sonographer and/or radiologist or other qualified physician. The incumbent performs sonographic studies according to the established imaging and patient care protocols of the Diagnostic Imaging Department in order to obtain accurate ultrasound diagnosis.
Requirements:
Graduate from AMA approved school of sonography and preparing for certification exam for registered sonographer or has been performing ultrasound prior to and continuously since October 1996 and evaluated by a responsible physician to assure competence. The Ultrasound Technologist (Registry Eligible) will demonstrate a general aptitude and understanding for sonographic technology. Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) strongly preferred.

Has been performing ultrasound prior to and continuously since October 1996 and evaluated by a responsible physician to assure competence Or If seeking certification through ARDMS, then must be Registry eligible in Physics and Abdomen or OB/GYN within 6 months of hire and other registries obtained within 12 months of hire. Or Registry eligible through ARRT for RT(S) or RT(VS) within 6 months of hire Or Registry eligible for Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI): RVS within 6 months of hire.

The range for this position is $30.05-$43.03. Actual rate is dependent upon experience.
