Loader Operator

W-L Construction and Paving, a CRH company, is among the largest grading contractors in southwest Virginia. We are seeking seasonal Equipment and Machine Operators on the loading crew at our asphalt plant in Castlewood and Abingdon, VA.

• Operate loaders around the asphalt plant.
• Drive and operate loader equipment as directed.
• Partner with other asphalt employees to meet daily schedules.
• Maintain courteous and professional conduct with co‑workers, customers, and the public.
• Perform assistance tasks across positions to complete jobs.
• Follow MSHA/OSHA safety guidelines and company policies.
• Agree to flexible schedules, location changes, and overtime, including work out of town.
• Perform excavations within designated areas with attention to detail.
• Operate off‑road trucks per specifications.

• Attendance required according to company policy.
• Physical ability to operate equipment under temperature extremes for 8‑12 hour shifts.
• Ability to follow instructions from supervisor and facility manager.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred (not required).

• Experience driving and operating loader equipment.
