Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Abingdon, VA | Acute Care

Contract | Night Shift | 3x12 or 4x12 Hours (18:30–07:00) | Rotating Weekends & Holidays | No On-Call | Floating Required

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:7
• Float to other units as required based on census and staffing needs
• Participate in rotating weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled
• Actively support nursing students and contribute to clinical education alongside the provision of direct patient care
• Complete all required orientation modules, including online computer-based learning (CBLs), during the designated orientation period

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Virginia or compact state equivalent
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required — AHA is the only accepted form
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required — AHA is the only accepted form
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Relias EKG testing must be completed within 72 hours of signing; two attempts allowed — failure to complete or pass within this timeframe will result in cancellation
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility's service area to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered

• Prior experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry setting
• Comfort with floating across multiple nursing units
• Experience supporting or precepting nursing students in a clinical environment

• Expected schedule of 36–48 hours per week with a structured night shift offering consistency and predictability
