About the Clinical and Family Services Specialist:
The Clinical and Family Services Specialist will ensure that all actively licensed families continue to meet all licensing standards throughout their licensing period and complete all recertification requirements on time. This is a part-time position with a commitment of about 20 hours per week. Benefits for the PT Clinical and Family Services Specialist:

Education and Experience Requirements:
A doctorate, master's, or baccalaureate degree in any field with student placement providing casework services to children and families
One year of experience providing case management services to children and families may be substituted for a student placement.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical:
Supervise, through face-to-face visits and all other forms of communication, clients and foster parents to ensure the quality-of-care requirements are met according to their assessed Treatment Foster Care (TFC) level.
Assess clients placed with the company by reviewing records, talking to referring agencies, requesting documentation needed for their charts, and communicating with the client and family as needed.
Administer written assessments within the required timeframe as determined by Virginia Licensed Child Placing Agency (LCPA) standards and the company's policies and procedures.
Develop Individualized Service Plans (ISP), Comprehensive Service Plans, and Quarterly Service Plans to meet state regulations and to establish/monitor services being provided to the client.
Attend all interdisciplinary team meetings, such as court hearings, FAPT, or school meetings.
Plan and implement constructive, therapeutic activities and behavior management to successfully achieve individual treatment goals through positive, nurturing experiences.
Provide continuity for clients transitioning out of a foster home into their biological family, an adoptive home, an independent living arrangement, or out of care. Services include home visitation, referral to community resources and/or specialists, child advocacy, transition plan development, and progress reports.
Maintain client's chart;
Document observations, progress, and concerns in the client's chart.
Provide transportation for clients when needed.
Family Services:
Complete Recertification Studies to maintain all currently licensed foster families on their assigned caseload.
Complete Quarterly Facility Checklists for all assigned foster families.
Maintain family charts;
Document observations, progress, and concerns in the family's physical chart and on Extended Reach Communicate verbally and in writing, in family's chart, all areas of concern or potential problems; update the on-call worker of any potential crises
Provide a positive role model that helps families to develop appropriate relational skills, connect with needed resources, and aid the foster youth in their care to attain life skills specific to the client's treatment needs and goals.
Complete new admissions for youth and families.
Complete home studies as assigned.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements :
Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA requirements.
Ability to work under pressure; meet inflexible deadlines; set priorities; and deal with difficult individuals
Knowledge of the Therapeutic Community model.
Knowledge of Trauma-Informed Care.
Ability to observe, assess, and document symptoms, reactions, and progress.
Ability to complete pre-service and annual in-service CPR, first aid certification training, and all other training required at licensing standards, company policy and procedures, and locality
