Job Description
Woodsdale Elementary School is hiring an ESL teacher to work with students in 3rd and 4th grade. The ESL teacher will provide direct English Language instruction to promote their English Language Development. The ESL Teacher will work with students grouped by their English Proficiency Level when possible. The ESL Teacher will work alongside other ESL Teachers in the building and collaborate with the district's ELE Director to deliver high‑quality ESL instruction.
Other responsibilities include administering ACCESS Testing and consulting with classroom teachers in support of English Learners.
- Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to educational equity and instructional excellence
- Provide a safe, inclusive, and welcoming learning environment for all learners
- Create lesson plans aligned with current state and district standards, driving instruction through formative assessment and differentiation
- Provide consistent, immediate feedback on student learning and ask analytical questions that elicit student responses incorporating prior knowledge, life experience, and interests directly related to the content objective
- Collaborate with colleagues and administration in analyzing data to positively impact student learning
- Engage in reflective practice in concert with supervisor and team aligned to the instructional focus of the school
- Incorporate language development strategies into every learning activity
- Communicate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and administrators
