Job Description The Special Education Team Chair coordinates and facilitates all aspects of the special education process, including IEP development, Team meetings, and compliance with state and federal regulations. This role involves effective communication with parents, staff, and outside agencies; supporting pre-referral processes; conducting or coordinating evaluations; and overseeing accurate and timely documentation. The Team Chair ensures the coordination of services, consults with educators and service providers, and uses technology to manage data and maintain student records at Abington Middle school.The position also requires collaboration with school and district leadership to address student needs and may include maintaining a student caseload as needed.
Qualified candidates will:
- Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to educational equity, inclusion, and instructional excellence
- Demonstrate an ability to administer and analyze appropriate testing protocols; develop and implement meaningful IEPs, and skillfully manage IEPs digitally
- Collaborate with colleagues and administration in analyzing data to positively impact student learning
- Communicate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and administrators
This is a special education teaching position with Team Chair responsibilities as listed above.
