Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated professional nurse committed to patient‑ and family‑centered care. The nurse will use the nursing process to develop individualized plans of care and provide safe, compassionate, and coordinated services aligned with each patient’s cultural beliefs and values.
Responsibilities- Interact with co‑workers, patients, families, and other staff in a manner consistent with Jefferson’s values.
- Integrate evidence‑based practice with patients’ preferences and cultural beliefs to deliver optimal care.
- Partner with patients and families to identify learning needs and priorities, providing education that is understandable and affirming.
- Follow established nursing practices and protocols to minimize risk of harm.
- Use information technology for communication, knowledge management, error mitigation, and ethical decision‑making.
- Analyze care outcomes, apply improvement methods, and design and test changes to enhance quality and safety.
- Collaborate effectively within inter‑professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision‑making.
- Create an environment of belonging and inclusion, demonstrating problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Act as a primary preceptor for appropriate staff members, providing guidance and support.
- Participate in hospital‑ and practice‑setting based committees, such as safety and quality improvement.
- Integrate feedback, apply appropriate changes, and continuously grow professionally.
- Education: Specialized Diploma from an accredited nursing school.
- Patient‑ and Family‑Centered Practice: Ability to convey respect and collaborate with patients, families, and care partners.
- Cultural Awareness: Knowledge of diverse backgrounds and effective communication across cultures.
- Effective Communication: Mastery of communication concepts, tools, and techniques.
- Patient Assessment & Care: Skill in assessing ailments, implementing treatment plans, and managing medications.
- Education & Discharge Planning: Ability to educate patients/care partners and develop comprehensive post‑discharge plans.
- Documentation: Proficiency in health‑information documentation and electronic record keeping.
- Basic Life Support (BLS): Certified by the American Heart Association.
- RN License: Valid licensed registered nurse in Pennsylvania or New Jersey (or appropriate state).
- BSN or completed BSN within 3 years of hire.
- Minimum one year of RN experience in an acute‑care setting.
- Active RN license required in the state of practice.
- Lift and carry 40–50lbs; push/pull patients on bed or stretcher (requires 29lbs push force).
- Lateral transfers up to 50lbs of the patient’s weight.
- Frequent or continuous standing and walking.
- Possible kneeling, bending, squatting, and CPR performance.
