Job Responsibilities

- Minimize risk of harm to patients and others by following established nursing practices, protocols, and performance standards.
- Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support ethical decision‑making.
- Use data to monitor outcomes of care processes, and apply improvement methods to design and test changes, continuously improving quality and safety.
- Function effectively within nursing and inter‑professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision‑making to achieve quality patient care.
- Recognize patients and their family/designated care partners in providing safe, compassionate, and coordinated care respecting personal preferences and cultural values.
- Create an environment of belonging and inclusion, demonstrating problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Demonstrate a commitment to learning, pursue professional growth, and act as a primary preceptor for appropriate staff members.
- Participate in hospital‑ and practice setting‑based committees, including safety and quality improvement.
- Demonstrate willingness to give and receive feedback and integrate changes into practice.
- Advanced Diploma graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- Knowledge of patient‑ and family‑centered practice, including respect for cultural beliefs.
- Effective communication skills to transmit, receive, and interpret ideas and information.
- Understanding of partnership language with patients and families.
- Ability to evaluate patient assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Knowledge of child and adult education techniques; ability to elicit learning priorities and educate patients and care partners on condition, treatment, medications, and recovery steps.
- Medication administration and prescribing knowledge for out‑patient continuation.
- Discharge planning knowledge; collaborate with patient and family in discharge plan and follow‑up.
- Ability to use assessment tools, nursing diagnosis, clinical judgment, and evidence‑based solutions.
- Health information documentation skills in medical records (written or electronic).
- BLS – Basic Life Support.
- AHA – American Heart Association certification.
- Registered Nurse license in PA or NJ.
- Active RN license required in state of practice.
- Physical demands: lift and carry 40–50 lbs.; push/pull patients on bed, stretcher; lateral transfers up to 50 lbs.; frequent standing/walking; patient transport up to 8–10 miles per shift; perform CPR as needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree (BSN) or completion of BSN or an advanced degree within 3 years of hire.
- At least 1 year previous experience as an RN in an acute care setting.
