Job Responsibilities

• Interact with co‑workers, patients, their family/designated care partner(s), and other staff consistent with Jefferson values.

• Advanced Diploma graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Knowledge of patient‑ and family‑centered practice, including respect for cultural beliefs.
• Effective communication skills to transmit, receive, and interpret ideas and information.
• Understanding of partnership language with patients and families.
• Ability to evaluate patient assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Knowledge of child and adult education techniques; ability to elicit learning priorities and educate patients and care partners on condition, treatment, medications, and recovery steps.
• Medication administration and prescribing knowledge for out‑patient continuation.
• Discharge planning knowledge; collaborate with patient and family in discharge plan and follow‑up.
• Ability to use assessment tools, nursing diagnosis, clinical judgment, and evidence‑based solutions.
• Health information documentation skills in medical records (written or electronic).

• BLS – Basic Life Support.
• AHA – American Heart Association certification.
• Registered Nurse license in PA or NJ.
• Active RN license required in state of practice.
• Physical demands: lift and carry 40–50 lbs.; push/pull patients on bed, stretcher; lateral transfers up to 50 lbs.; frequent standing/walking; patient transport up to 8–10 miles per shift; perform CPR as needed.

• Bachelor’s Degree (BSN) or completion of BSN or an advanced degree within 3 years of hire.
• At least 1 year previous experience as an RN in an acute care setting.
