Job Overview
Committed to patient- and family-centered care, the professional nurse uses the nursing process to address the physical, psychological, emotional, and social needs of the diverse patients served by Jefferson Health. Develops individualized nursing care plans in partnership with patients and their designated care partners, ensuring alignment with cultural beliefs and values.

- Integrate evidence‑based practice, clinical expertise, and patient preferences into optimal care delivery.
- Partner with patients and families to identify learning needs and provide clear, affirming education.
- Minimize risk of harm by following established nursing protocols and individual performance standards.
- Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support ethical decision‑making.
- Analyze care process data and apply improvement methods to design, test, and implement changes that enhance quality and safety.
- Work effectively within inter‑professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision‑making.
- Create an environment of belonging and inclusion, demonstrating problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Engage in hospital‑ and practice‑setting committees focused on safety and quality improvement.
- Actively give and receive feedback, integrating appropriate changes into practice.
- Specialized Diploma Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Licensed RN in the state of practice.
- Knowledge and ability to: provide patient‑ and family‑centered practice; demonstrate cultural awareness; communicate effectively; assess patients and develop nursing diagnoses; educate patients and families; administer medications and prescribe drugs; plan discharge; document health information accurately.
- Bachelor’s Degree (BSN) or completion of a BSN within 3 years of hire.
- At least 1 year of experience as an RN in an acute‑care setting.
- Active RN license in the state of practice.
- Lift, carry, and frequently stand/walk while transporting patients (up to 50 lbs. for transfers).
- Perform activities such as kneeling, bending, squatting, and CPR as required.
