Job Responsibilities

• Interact with co‑workers, patients, family/designated care partners, and other staff in a manner consistent with Jefferson Health values.
• Integrate evidence‑based practice and clinical expertise with patient and family preferences and cultural beliefs to deliver optimal care.
• Partner with patients and families to identify learning needs and provide education in a clear and affirming manner.
• Minimize patient and staff risk by following established nursing practices, protocols, and individual performance standards.

• Use data to monitor care outcomes and apply improvement methods to design, test, and sustain changes that enhance quality and safety.

• Specialized diploma (Graduate of an accredited school of nursing).

  Proficiency in transmitting, receiving, and interpreting information using appropriate communication behaviors.

  Knowledge of education techniques and ability to elicit learning priorities and provide instruction on condition and treatment.
• Medication Administration:
  Knowledge of medications and ability to administer and prescribe for continuing care.
• Discharge Planning:
  Ability to partner with patients and families in developing discharge plans and arranging follow‑up care.
• Assessment and Diagnosis:
  Use of tools and techniques for patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, and clinical judgment.
• Health Information Documentation:
  Competence in recording medical histories, vital signs, medications, diagnoses, and treatments in written or electronic form.
• Registered Nurse (RN) Licensed, or PA with State of Pennsylvania license.

• Bachelor’s Degree (BSN) or completion of BSN/appropriate advanced degree within 3 years of hire.
• 1 year previous experience as an RN in an acute care setting.

• Lift and carry 40–50 lbs.; push/pull patients on bed or stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force).
• Perform lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of patient weight.
• Frequent to continuous standing/walking; patient transporters may walk 8–10 miles per shift.
• Perform kneeling, bending, squatting, and CPR as required.
