Position: RN, IPU Pulmonary (PT - Days) - Abington

Job Details

This position requires participation in on‑call rotation. With a commitment to patient‑ and family‑centered care, the professional nurse uses the nursing process to address the physical, psychological, emotional, and social needs of diverse patients served by Jefferson Health.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in on‑call rotation.
  • Develop nursing plans of care with patients and their designated care partner(s), addressing individualized needs and priorities and respecting cultural beliefs and values.
  • Interact with co‑workers, patients, families, and other staff in a manner consistent with Jefferson’s values.
  • Integrate evidence‑based practice, clinical expertise, patient preferences, and cultural beliefs to deliver optimal care.
  • Partner with patients and families to identify learning needs and provide education that is useful, understandable, and affirming.
  • Minimize risk of harm by following established nursing practices, protocols, and individual performance standards.
  • Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support ethical decision‑making.
  • Use data to monitor outcomes of care processes and apply improvement methods to design, test, and implement changes that enhance quality and safety.
  • Function effectively within nursing and inter‑professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision‑making to achieve quality patient care.
  • Recognize patients’ preferences and needs, providing safe, compassionate, and coordinated care that respects personal priorities and cultural values.
  • Create an environment of belonging and inclusion, demonstrating problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills.
  • Demonstrate commitment to learning, seek opportunities for professional growth, and act as a preceptor to appropriate staff members.
  • Actively participate in hospital and practice‑setting committees, including safety and quality improvement.
  • Show willingness to give and receive feedback and integrate appropriate changes into practice.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • Required:

      Specialized Diploma Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
    • Preferred:
      Bachelor’s Degree (BSN) or completion of BSN or appropriate advanced degree within 3 years of hire.
  • Experience
    • Preferred: 1 year previous experience as an RN in an acute care setting.

      BLS – Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) and RN – Licensed Registered  (state of Pennsylvania) or RN – Licensed Registered  (state of New Jersey).
