Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team on a full-time, onsite basis in Absecon, NJ. This role offers long-term growth potential and plays a key part in supporting commercial painting, coatings, and wallcovering projects. The Estimator will be responsible for developing accurate, competitive bids while collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and clients.

Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and site conditions
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment
  • Develop competitive bids and proposals
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers
Client & Stakeholder Communication
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, and architects
  • Manage project changes, challenges, and timelines while maintaining client satisfaction
Technical & Compliance Oversight
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, union requirements, and industry regulations
  • Provide technical expertise related to coatings, wall coverings, and specialized finishes
  • Identify opportunities to improve estimating accuracy and project efficiency
  • Stay current on industry trends, materials, and best practices
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial estimating or project management
  • Experience with in commercial painting, coatings, or wallcovering environments preferred
  • Proficiency with estimating software such as Bluebeam
    , Plan Swift
    , or On-Screen Takeoff
  • Familiarity with union labor costs, industrial coatings, and high-performance painting applications
  • Strong attention to detail and budgeting skills
  • Ability to negotiate contracts and coordinate cross-functional teams
  • Degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and project management tools
