Adjunct Instructor

The Political Science program, located within the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Stockton University, accepts applications from qualified adjunct (part-time) instructors. Opportunities may exist to teach an undergraduate course during the day or evening at our campuses in Galloway or Atlantic City. Services are contracted on a semester/term basis. Available teaching assignments vary semester to semester.

Adjunct instructors are expected to:

• Teach courses as scheduled
• Use Blackboard (the Learning Management System) to support the course
• Provide a syllabus for students and the School of Behavioral and Social Sciences no later than the 1st day of classes in the semester they are teaching
• Submit required and recommended course materials to the campus bookstore in a timely manner
• Access student work and provide timely feedback
• Provide weekly office hours (virtual or in-person) and communicate frequently with students
• Select course objectives and administer student evaluations according to established timelines
• Stay up to date in the field and pedagogy in higher ed
• Consult with the Center for Teaching and Learning Design (CTLD) as needed
• Follow all guidelines and meet expectations of faculty in the School of Behavioral and Social Sciences
• Support Stockton University's strong student-centered vision and mission

Required Qualifications:

• Master's Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

• Doctorate or J.D. (if applicable) strongly preferred in subject or related area
• Relevant teaching experience
