As a Technician, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store. You will be the first point of contact to assist patients and customers, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely and accurately, and that we provide caring service that exceeds expectations. You will work consistently with SOPs, best practices, and effective communication to maintain a safe and inclusive culture.
Once in role, a Technician must complete a rigorous company training program and satisfy all registration, licensing, and certification requirements. Until these requirements are met, duties may be restricted by the Pharmacy Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Follow company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
- Adhere to pharmacy workflow procedures at production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, and drop‑off stations for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Provide positive patient experiences with empathy, personalized service, and by offering immunizations and other services at the register or over the phone.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as putting away deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, and waiting‑bin inventories as directed.
- Contribute to a high‑performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and seek opportunities to expand your clinical and technical knowledge.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntary travel to other stores in the market.
- Understand and comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles, including controlled substance dispensing and record‑keeping.
- Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and optional staffing of offsite clinics) where allowed by law and supported by training.
Where permissible, the Pharmacy Technician may also support immunizations, which includes the following responsibilities:
- Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
- Educate patients about vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the pharmacist‑on‑duty.
- Monitor and respond to adverse reactions, reporting events per public health requirements.
- Review and collect patient information, tracking and documenting each applicable patient.
- Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.
- Comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
