Document Controller - AECOM - Abu Dhabi, UAE

AECOM is seeking a detail-oriented Document Controller to support construction and infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi. This role is critical in ensuring accurate document management, compliance, and efficient information flow across multidisciplinary project teams. The position is ideal for professionals experienced in managing technical and project documentation within large engineering or construction environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain document control systems and procedures in line with project and company standards
  • Manage the receipt, registration, distribution, and filing of project and operational documents
  • Ensure all documents are correctly indexed, version-controlled, and easily retrievable
  • Coordinate with project teams to support timely submission, review, and approval of documents
  • Perform regular quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of document records
  • Generate reports on document status, revisions, transmittals, and distribution logs
  • Support project teams by providing guidance on document control procedures and best practices
  • Liaise with internal departments, consultants, contractors, and clients on document-related matters
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and regulatory standards
  • Identify opportunities to improve document control workflows and overall efficiency
Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Management, or a related field
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in document control within construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency in document management systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong knowledge of filing, archiving, and electronic document management processes
  • Familiarity with project documentation workflows and basic project management principles
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
