Librarian Assistant

We are hiring a Librarian Assistant to join our team in Abu Dhabi. As a Librarian Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Librarian in managing the library collection, providing library services to patrons, and maintaining the library's organization and appearance.

• Assist the Head Librarian in managing and organizing the library's collection
• Provide reference and research assistance to patrons
• Assist with cataloging and classifying materials
• Maintain accurate records of library transactions
• Ensure that all materials are properly shelved and organized
• Oversee circulation desk activities, such as checking out materials and collecting fines
• Assist with creating displays and promoting library events
• Help with inventory management and ordering new materials as needed
• Provide basic computer assistance to patrons using library resources
• Monitor the behavior of patrons to maintain a peaceful environment within the library

• Fluency in Malayalam or Arabic is preferred but not required
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with library technology systems
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds for shelving purposes

This position offers a competitive salary of $1700 per month.

This job is located in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
