Assistant Librarian

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Assistant Librarian to join our team in Abu Dhabi. As an Assistant Librarian, you will assist the head librarian in managing and maintaining the library collection, providing reference services to patrons, and overseeing day-to-day operations.

• Assist the head librarian in managing the library collection, including cataloging, shelving, and weeding materials
• Provide reference services to patrons by helping them find and access information
• Oversee circulation desk activities such as checking materials in/out and issuing library cards
• Train and supervise library assistants and volunteers
• Maintain accurate records of library transactions
• Assist with planning and organizing library events and programs
• Ensure that the library is clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Familiarity with library software systems preferred
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

Salary: 1300$ per month

Location:

Abu Dhabi, UAE (Preference for Egyptian candidates)
