Manage and Leverage Support Craft volume procurement across the group to ensure the achievement of Group’s commercial objectives
Ensure that Group’s position is protected through an in-depth understanding of contractual and commercial processes
Prepare framework agreements & charter party agreements for Support Craft, leveraging volume discounts, early payment initiatives etc. across the group
Liaise closely with the senior logistics manager and Vessels and Equipment Manager to ensure that support craft requirements are sourced and procured effectively and diligently
Assist the Group Resource Procurement Director in sourcing the required support craft vessels from new markets in Asia, Europe etc. to meet the group’s demand
In depth knowledge of BIMCO suite of charter party agreements in particular Supply time, Barge hire, Heavy on, Towcon, etc.
Assist in the recruitment of support craft procurement team and manage the team to be an effective support function for the resource pool
Prepare and compile tender documents to issue to support craft vessel owners as required where not included in the framework agreement
Manage the timely procurement of support craft vessels in accordance with the procurement business process
Maintain a good working relationship with NMDC resource pool and vessel owners
Manage a strategic procurement process that reflects customers’ needs
Participate in the technical and unpriced commercial evaluation of tenders and then leads the subsequent priced commercial evaluation of technically acceptable offers
Prepare a comprehensive techno-commercial evaluation and recommendation reports
Process award recommendations, ensure necessary approvals and finalize negotiations with successful bidder
Check conformity of bidders to all tender documentation including for example guarantees, performance bonds, insurance and the like with agreed formats and processes as required
Demonstrate a reasonable level of managerial, commercial and technical knowledge
Provide an effective procurement function for NMDC group, providing governance, advice and guidance to colleagues engaging in procurement activity
Assist in developing and implementing robust and effective policies, processes, procedures and systems to support the operational effectiveness of NMDC group in relation to procurement
This is a generalist view of a Job that you have been assigned for – at times you may be requested to do above/beyond the scope of this role due to Operational requirements
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent
Additional Qualification in multi-disciplinary Engineering, Contractual or Procurement areas is desirable
Certification: RICS (Royal institute of Chartered Surveyors) full membership, CIPS (Chartered Institute
Minimum 10 years of experience in Procurement activities, preferably with Support Craft chartering procurement, in similar industries
