Post Fixing and Loss Senior Specialist – ADNOC Global Trading – Abu Dhabi, UAE

ADNOC Global Trading is hiring a Post Fixing and Loss Senior Specialist to manage and resolve demurrage and other shipping claims, minimizing financial exposure for the business. This role requires expertise in maritime operations, chartering terms, and oil trading claims handling. The successful candidate will work closely with trading, legal, finance, and shipping teams to ensure timely settlement of receivables and payables, negotiate claims, and drive process improvements across the supply chain.

• Manage, defend, and negotiate demurrage claims payable and receivable with ship‑owners and trading counter parties
• Handle other shipping claims, including P&I claims where applicable
• Ensure invoices are issued, received, and paid on time while preventing over payments or under‑recoveries
• Maintain claim records, ensuring compliance with company and international standards
• Review monthly post fixture reports, identify risks, and recommend operational improvements
• Monitor daily time bar positions and ensure timely claim submissions
• Train and mentor junior team members in post fixture claims handling
• Collaborate with legal, contracts, and trading operations to align on laytime, demurrage, and shipping cost terms
• Support audits, reporting, and management presentations on claims and loss positions
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce financial exposure

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain, Maritime Studies, Engineering, or Law (Maritime/Contract Law knowledge preferred)
• 6–8 years of experience in shipping or oil trading with strong expertise in post fixture claims handling
• Proven experience in demurrage, barge, and bio claims resolution
• In‑depth knowledge of the oil supply chain, shipping operations, and chartering procedures
• Strong financial acumen in planning, profitability, and claims‑related forecasting
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to engage with ship‑owners, agents, and trading partners
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities
• High integrity, accountability, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
