Responsibilities
- Supplier qualification
- Sending out triggering questionnaires to business partners and evaluating responses, identifying gaps, inconsistencies, or instincts that do not ring true.
- Timely follow‑up with suppliers where no response is received or gaps / missing information exist.
- Working closely with the onboarding team to ensure new suppliers are correctly entered into SAP and Ariba.
- Running desktop analysis on selected business partners as part of EGA’s qualification process.
- Screening of supplier customers through Refinitiv when needed.
- Critical analysis of due diligence findings, including supplier engagement and follow‑up investigations.
- Collaborating with procurement teams on critical findings that can impact supplier qualification or selection.
- Working closely with legal and compliance departments on relevant issues.
- Ensuring procurement teams include ESG criteria as part of the supplier selection process.
- Maintaining supplier qualification templates and processes.
- Carrying out supplier qualification audits when needed.
- Supplier development and audits
- Developing supplier audit plans on a yearly basis together with the ESG team and SC stakeholders.
- Participating in on‑site audits and developing improvement plans for suppliers.
- Working with suppliers to improve their ESG performance as identified through audits.
- Liaising with EHS, Quality, CSR and Sustainability departments on audit findings and actions.
- Adhering to KPIs established for ESG review and due diligence of suppliers.
- Supplier performance and risk
- Risk rating of suppliers and escalation liaison internally within EGA to inform commercial decision‑making.
- Monitoring and tracking ongoing supplier performance and scheduling EGA interventions as necessary.
- Preparing supply chain risk and performance reports for SC management.
- Providing regular reporting and statistics quarterly on supplier progress and deep dives as necessary.
- Projects and ESG requirements
- Updating relevant policies and procedures pertaining to Responsible Sourcing and Supplier Onboarding in cooperation with the GRC manager.
- Keeping up to date on ESG developments and requirements from ASI, UN, OECD, EU and other relevant organizations.
- Running relevant projects for Responsible sourcing, such as implementing new requirements (e.g., carbon emissions, women in the workforce).
- Collaborating with CSR on social programs in the UAE and Guinea.
- Performing other tasks and assignments required by the SC ESG Manager in connection with Responsible Sourcing.
- Contributing to continual improvement of EGA’s ESG due diligence management system.
- Safety, Quality, Environment
- Complying with all relevant EHS policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
- A minimum of three years’ professional experience in a compliance or sustainability‑related role.
- Degree‑level education in sustainability, business, law or a related field.
- Analytical and detail‑oriented.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Mindset of high ethical standards.
- Demonstrable ability to apply critical thinking and professional scepticism.
- Excellent understanding of ESG issues.
- Comfortable with IT database platforms and highly proficient in MS Office.
