The Product Specialist is an intermediate‑level position responsible for covering a set of important cross‑border and local clients within the Direct Custody and Clearing in Gulf Region and developing product plans, business strategies and tactics in coordination with the Regional Product Management team. The overall objective of this role is to coordinate the promotion of products to develop new markets, ensuring stability of existing business model and enhancing custody product offering to increase market share and retention of existing business.
Key Responsibilities- Client Relationship Management:
Serve as the primary product and account manager for Direct Custody and Clearing clients, ensuring effective communication of market and service updates. Manage all client‑related requests, including RFPs, SLAs, and DDQs. - Strategic Business Support:
Assist Custody product country heads in developing and executing the local business strategy, aligning with regional objectives. - Commercial Acumen: market research, competitive analysis, SWOT analysis, go‑to‑market strategy, product positioning, pricing strategy.
- Business Growth &
Risk Management:
Drive business growth, competitive landscape, expand market share, and achieve revenue targets while maintaining robust risk management discipline. - Market Insight & Strategy:
Leverage customer, competitor, and industry insights to define strategies that enhance client experience and portfolio growth. - Business Development:
Actively pursue new business prospects, identify sales opportunities, and conceptualize new product offerings. - Cross‑functional
Collaboration:
Collaborate with Operations and Technology teams on regional and local process and product design and implementation. Contribute to budgeting and planning for strategic initiatives. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders across operations, corporate banking, treasury, compliance, and legal. - Service Excellence:
Ensure superior service delivery and high client satisfaction through service excellence programs, identifying opportunities for added services, efficiency, and control enhancements. - Market Infrastructure Engagement:
Maintain close ties with local market infrastructures and champion initiatives to foster market development and attract foreign investment. - Data Analysis & Visualization:
Analyze large datasets and translate complex data into actionable insights to drive informed decisions. - Post‑trade Lifecycle of Digital Assets:
Experience in digital assets, asset servicing, and tokenization of RWAs. - Risk and Audit Management:
Function as the first line of defense for business risk monitoring and control. Manage internal and external audits, including ownership of action points and corrective action plans. - Product Offering and Service Level: Guarantee top‑tier service and product offerings for existing clients and target prospects.
- Regulatory Compliance:
Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on custody offering. - Advocacy and Thought Leadership:
Engage in advocacy with market regulators and promote thought leadership within the industry. - Ethical Risk Assessment:
Consistently assess risk in business decisions, prioritize Citigroup's reputation, client and asset safeguarding, compliance with laws and regulations, ethical judgment, and transparent escalation/reporting of control issues.
- +6 years' experience in Custody and Securities Services.
- Detailed understanding of the Direct Custody and Clearing and Investor services in Kuwait.
- Experience dealing with local market infrastructure and regulators.
- Experience working across multiple products/geographies.
- University degree.
- Arabic Speaker (preferred).
- SCA certified - Custody.
