We are currently looking for a Strategy Consultant to support a key initiative within the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) on a 12-month freelance contract
.
DCT Abu Dhabi is the government entity responsible for driving the sustainable growth of Abu Dhabi’s culture and tourism sectors, playing a central role in positioning the emirate as a global hub for culture, creativity, and tourism.
This role will support the Gaming Strategy Team in driving strategic planning, performance management, governance, and initiative tracking across the organization. The SMO Consultant will work closely with senior leadership and internal stakeholders to support planning cycles, develop executive materials, track performance against strategic objectives, and coordinate strategic initiatives across multiple work streams.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning Support- Support SMO leadership in preparing and coordinating strategic planning activities
- Conduct research and analysis to inform strategic priorities and planning cycles
- Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and background documents for senior leadership
- Support the development and maintenance of strategic planning frameworks and templates
- Track progress against strategic objectives and flag risks or delays to the SMO Lead
- Coordinate inputs from internal stakeholders to ensure alignment across work streams
- Support the design and execution of performance management processes across the organization
- Collect, consolidate, and validate performance data from departments and business units
- Prepare periodic performance reports and dashboards for leadership and governance bodies
- Monitor KPIs and OKRs, identifying trends, variances, and areas requiring attention
- Support preparation of materials for performance reviews and governance forums
- Maintain and update performance tracking tools, dashboards, and databases
- Provide operational support to governance structures and decision-making processes
- Coordinate agendas, minutes, and action tracking for governance committees and leadership forums
- Prepare decision papers, issue logs, and options analyses for senior stakeholders
- Ensure follow-up on decisions and action items across governance bodies
- Support documentation and communication of governance frameworks, policies, and procedures
- Assist in the design and rollout of governance improvements as directed by the SMO Lead
- Support coordination and tracking of strategic initiatives and projects across the organization
- Maintain initiative trackers, project plans, and status reports
- Coordinate with project owners and stakeholders to gather updates and resolve dependencies
- Prepare initiative-level briefing packs and progress summaries for leadership
- Flag risks, blockers, and resource constraints to the SMO Lead for escalation
- Support the development of business cases and initiative charters as required
- At least 4-6 years of experience in top-tier management consulting or strategy consulting, ideally at Manager / Senior Consultant level
- Experience from MBB or an equivalent top-tier strategy firm is required
- Strong experience in strategic planning, performance management, governance, or transformation programs
- Demonstrated ability to prepare executive-level materials, briefing packs, dashboards, and decision papers
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to work confidently with performance and KPI data
- Experience coordinating stakeholders and tracking delivery across multiple work streams
- Strong structured thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate strategic priorities into clear plans, reports, and governance materials
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and data accuracy
- Excellent stakeholder coordination and follow-up skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prepare high-quality presentations and leadership materials
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous, and senior stakeholder environments
- Proactive, organized, and delivery-focused
- Exposure to gaming or esports sector is preferred
- Strong working knowledge of AI tools and their application to strategy, reporting, and operations is preferred
- GCC experience is preferred, ideally 3–5 years
- Track record of 1–2 promotions within the same firm is preferred
