Job Description
Director of Business Planning & Development for the Central Asia & Eastern Europe (CIS) region will spearhead a range of strategic initiatives, including market research, competitive analysis, business planning, partnership development, and project leadership to drive revenue growth and expand ADPG’s presence in the CIS region. The Director will work closely with senior management to formulate and implement business strategies.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive business plans and strategies to achieve the company’s growth objectives.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and the competitive landscape; analyze data to inform decisions and provide strategic recommendations.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships, joint ventures, and expansion projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry associations, port authorities, and potential clients.
- Lead and manage major business development projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and successful implementation.
- Develop financial models and projections to support business planning and decision-making; oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis for business development initiatives.
- Provide cross‑functional support in clarifying, validating, and understanding the implications of assumptions on business/financial models.
- Lead and support the submission of investment proposals to the Investment Committee and its approval.
- Ensure all business activities comply with regional regulations and AD Ports company standards.
- Lead and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, or a related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Professional certifications in Project Management (PMP) and Lean Six Sigma highly desirable.
- Knowledge of port, maritime, and logistics operations, including industry regulations and best practices.
- Experience with financial modelling, analytics, and data visualization methodologies and tools.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and dynamic environment.
- Financial acumen and experience in managing budgets and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Proficiency in Arabic imperative for effective communication with local stakeholders.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in business planning, business development, and project management, with a focus on complex projects within the port, maritime, and logistics sector.
- At least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards.
- Experience in business planning and development.
