JOB PURPOSE
The EGA Strategy team advises the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors on strategic matters including key investment and divestment decisions, new value chain opportunities, and overall strategic direction. The Manager leads independent analysis and discussions to define and execute EGA strategy, oversees work streams and projects, develops financial models for project assessment and valuations, implements value capture initiatives, and supports execution of strategy across EGA’s international assets.
KEYACCOUNTABILITIES
- Leads one or more work‑streams to develop EGA’s strategy and business objectives, aligning across functions.
- Supports the definition and execution of strategic priorities and the annual strategy development process.
- Manages the strategic planning process and KPIs, monitoring and tracking achievement against targets.
- Prepares communication vehicles and reports summarizing data, KPIs, and conclusions for management.
- Develops performance‑improvement initiatives (e.g., OPEX/CAPEX reduction) and engages functions to implement them.
- Interprets results from multiple project components, translating findings into clear recommendations and building strong business cases.
- Implements initiatives that cover all business areas, both revenue‑enhancing and cost‑reducing, with measurable impact.
- Conducts ad‑hoc analysis to assess profitability or strategic fit of requests.
- Gathers, synthesizes, analyzes, and presents data to recommend actions on ad‑hoc requests.
- Coaches and mentors up to two analysts, building sustained capability.
- Leads a multifunctional team in a work‑stream, ensuring timely and efficient completion of work.
- Coordinates implementation of specific strategic initiatives.
- Makes key recommendations and decisions for projects/work‑streams within scope.
- Reports to the Senior Manager, Strategy and Corporate Development and confers on all material issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, finance, strategy, or related specialization.
Minimum Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in strategy, finance, or business analysis in a reputable organization.
- Prior experience in consulting or investment firms highly preferred.
Skills:
- Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and financial modelling skills.
- Ability to synthesize and interpret data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective prioritization skills to manage complex business demands.
- Proven ability to manage projects/work‑streams.
- Attention to detail.
