Crewing Officer

Overview

Crewing Officer – GAC Marine, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Full‑time, on site position.

• Plan, coordinate and execute crew changes of assigned vessels, ensuring they are manned efficiently and timely to minimize overdue days and adhere to client‑specific requirements.
• Process monthly payroll entry, review invoices and perform other ad‑hoc duties for any crew‑related activities.
• Ensure timely mobilization of vessel crew to maintain operational schedules and reduce instances of crew exceeding contractual sea service periods.
• Accurately maintain and regularly update all crew documentation in physical crewing files and the digital crewing management system, guaranteeing all required documents are valid and in place.
• Process crew payroll register monthly, handle reimbursements, avoid arrears and discrepancies.
• Optimize costs related to travel, visa processing, medicals and other logistics, without compromising quality or compliance.
• Collaborate closely with vessel sea staff and other departments, fostering open and honest communication across the organization to promote transparency and build mutual trust.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Formal training in crew management or relevant management courses.
• Understanding of international maritime regulations, including MLC 2006 and STCW.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a crewing assistant role within the maritime industry.
• Technical skills: MS Office tools.
