JOB PURPOSE:

Ensure that the automotive business units operate in accordance with Principal’s guidelines of business conduct and applicable laws and regulations of the territory of operations by developing and implementing an appropriate compliance framework. Design and conduct “Compliance Awareness” training sessions to educate staff at all levels about the importance of compliance and the applicability in their respective job role. Perform “Compliance Reviews” to assess operational gaps with regard to the compliance framework.

(E.g. compliance of contracts, transactions, offers etc. with the requirements defined in the compliance framework). Recommend and agree remedial measures with BU management to address compliance gaps and follow-up on implementation of the same. Build and maintain appropriate relationships with Principal’s Compliance team and ensure that any changes in compliance requirements are understood and incorporated in business operations. Act as the focal point for all compliance reviews/audits conducted by the Principal or external agencies and ensure that the organization’s position and interests are safe-guarded.

Key Accountabilities:

Compliance Framework and Principal Relationship Management:
  • Implementation and execution of an effective framework that addresses key compliance requirements of the Principals and Regulators thereby contributing to enhancing the compliance management process within the organization.
  • Build and maintain appropriate relationship with the compliance organizations of Principals and act as the focal point for all compliance reviews / audits conducted by Principals and / or external agencies For example QMS (ISO
    9001), HSE Audit, Distributor Retail Standards, Homologation application in MOIAT.
Compliance Reviews and investigations:
  • Conduct periodic compliance reviews to ensure that the business operations is adhering to the requirements of the compliance framework. Agree remedial measures for compliance gaps and follow up to ensure timely implementation of the action plans.
  • Conduct investigation in coordination with Group Compliance Team, identify potential breach of compliance framework, report findings and recommendation. Add value through appropriate use of data analysis tools and techniques to explain potential deficiencies/ breach as part of Investigations.
Compliance Training:

Contribute to enhancing awareness of compliance by designing training courses that explain the significance and applicability of compliance across various job roles and selected business partners.

Internal Audit Coordination and review of Standard Operating Process (SOP) of BU:
  • Coordinate and facilitate all activities related to Internal audits by ensuring timely sharing if information and communication between Internal Auditors and Business Unit. Ensure timely implementation of internal Audit Action Plan and provide necessary support to Business Units for implementation of Internal Audit action plan.
  • Coordinate and support Business unit to establish/ revise SOPs, guidelines taking into account best Practices in order to improve business processes, productivity and operational efficiency.
Compliance Advisory:

Act as an advisor to the business to ensure that the business operations are in accordance with the requirements outlined in the compliance framework. In this role the Compliance Officer would provide feedback on proposed contracts, transactions, offers etc.

Qualification:
  • Master’s degree in business management (MBA) preferred.
  • Certification in Corporate Compliance and Ethic.
  • Experience in Internal Audit (preferred)
Experience:
  • At least 5 years’ experience in retail automotive business operations.
  • Should have developed and delivered training sessions to various levels of staff.
  • Experience in conducting compliance reviews / audits will be a major advantage.
  • Should possess excellent communication skills (written and oral) in the English language. Knowledge of Arabic would be an added advantage.
  • Overall 10 years or more of professional experience is required.
