Role Summary
The Government Relations Supervisor serves as primary liaison and responsible for managing all government liaison activities and ensuring timely processing of immigration, labour, licensing, and regulatory documentation for employees, offshore personnel, customers, and company operations. The role ensures full compliance with UAE laws and regulations while maintaining effective relationships with government authorities and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the end-to-end processing of employment, visit, transit and mission visas, work permits, renewals and cancellations in compliance with UAE regulations.
- Liaise with government authorities including ICP, GDRFA, MOHRE and other regulatory bodies to ensure timely processing of all employee and company documentation.
- Coordinate the renewal and maintenance of company trade licences, agency agreements, radio licences and vehicle registrations to ensure ongoing legal compliance.
- Support Marine Operations with vessel clearances, crew changes, navigation licences, security passes, visa processing and other port‑related regulatory requirements.
- Monitor changes to UAE labour laws, immigration regulations and Emiratisation requirements, keeping management informed of any updates affecting the business.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with government departments, regulatory authorities and key stakeholders.
- Prepare and submit statutory reports, including MOHRE employee reports, Emiratisation reports, WPS reports and other required government documentation.
- Provide guidance and support to employees on government‑related processes and represent the company in dealings with government authorities where required.
- Maintain accurate employee records, including labour contracts, work permits and passport documentation, ensuring all files remain up to date.
- Work closely with HR, Administration, Marine Operations and management to deliver efficient government services, support business operations and ensure compliance across all locations.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of Shipping Agency Operations.
- Good understanding of government and local regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and related internal systems.
- Good communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
