Job DescriptionThis is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and enthusiastic technical professional to support one of the UAE's leading school performing arts and events programmes. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of concerts, productions, assemblies, sporting events, parent events and wider school activities, whilst maintaining and developing the School's audio-visual, sound and lighting infrastructure.
We are seeking an individual with experience in live sound, theatrical lighting, event production and audio-visual systems. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable supporting the day-to-day technical needs of a busy school as they are managing the sound and lighting requirements of large-scale musical productions, performances and concerts.

ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities Technical Support & AV Operations
- Manage, maintain and troubleshoot the School's AV equipment, including sound, lighting, projection and recording systems.
- Set up, operate and strike AV equipment for assemblies, productions, performances, concerts, examinations and School events.
- Provide technical support to staff, students and external providers during events and performances.
- Support classroom and meeting room technology where required.
- Maintain an inventory of AV equipment and recommend replacement or upgrade requirements.
- Take lead responsibility for the operation, programming and maintenance of theatrical lighting systems, sound systems and production technology used across the School.
- Design, programme and operate lighting and sound for major School productions, concerts, dance shows and musical theatre performances.
- Support the technical requirements of large-scale productions, including those involving live orchestras, multiple performance spaces and external performers.
- Work alongside the Director of Performing Arts, Music and Drama teams to develop technical production plans and ensure professional standards are maintained.
- Manage rehearsals, technical rehearsals and performance runs from a sound, lighting and stage management perspective.
- Maintain all theatre, auditorium and performing arts technical equipment, ensuring operational readiness throughout the academic year.
- Support recording, live streaming and multimedia requirements for performances and School events.
- Provide AV support for parent events, open days, graduations, conferences and community events.
- Support marketing and communications teams with audio, visual and recording requirements.
- Assist with live streaming, recording and broadcasting of School events where required.
- Ensure all AV and production equipment is operated safely and in accordance with relevant health and safety regulations.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and report any defects.
- Maintain safe working practices in performance spaces, theatres and event venues.
- Support the wider Operations and Performing Arts teams as required.
- Participate in School events outside of normal working hours where operationally required.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operating procedures and equipment guides to support continuity of service.
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role as reasonably requested by the School.
Minimum Education al Qualifications Required for the Role
- Diploma, Degree or Professional Qualification in Audio Visual Technology, Sound Engineering, Technical Theatre, Event Production, Media Technology or a related field.
- Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
- 3-5 years' experience in an Audio Visual, Technical Theatre, Production, Events or Performing Arts support role.
- Experience working with professional audio-visual, sound and lighting equipment.
- Experience supporting live events, concerts, theatrical productions and musical performances.
- Experience programming and operating stage lighting systems.
- Strong understanding of live sound mixing, microphones and audio systems.
