Aldar Education is seeking an outstanding Head - English Primary to join Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi, UAE, starting in January 2027. This teaching and middle-leadership opportunity combines responsibility for Primary English with team leadership, curriculum delivery, assessment, pupil progress and the continued development of high-quality teaching and learning within a British curriculum school. The successful candidate will contribute to the school 's strategic direction while leading teachers and teaching assistants, supporting consistent standards across the year group and maintaining an engaging learning environment.

Leadership Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the whole-school vision and strategic direction of Mamoura British Academy.
  • Lead team and planning meetings, keeping colleagues informed, organised and focused on successful delivery.
  • Line manage teachers and teaching assistants, supporting effective performance against the UAE Professional Teacher Standards.
  • Participate in monitoring, evaluation and reporting processes and quality assure provision within the year group.
  • Maintain consistently high expectations for teaching, learning and pupil outcomes.
  • Take an active role in the school 's Middle Leader training programme.
  • Build positive working relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues across the school community.
Teaching and Learning

The Head - English Primary will teach across the Primary English National Curriculum while helping strengthen teaching practice across the school.

Responsibilities include planning and delivering lessons for different ability levels, organising classroom resources and creating a positive environment that supports effective learning.

The role also involves evidencing children 's work in line with the school 's Marking and Feedback policy, sharing effective classroom practice and contributing to professional development and teaching and learning initiatives.

Innovative and creative use of technology should form part of lesson delivery and continuous provision.

Assessment and Pupil Progress
  • Take responsibility for the attainment and progress of an assigned class and support pupils in achieving above expected expectations.
  • Meet school requirements for assessing and recording pupil development using Learning Ladders.
  • Interpret assessment information to guide subsequent planning and targeted interventions.
  • Provide parents and carers with regular feedback about student progress through Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
  • Prepare for and contribute to termly Pupil Progress meetings.
Behaviour, Safeguarding and School Duties

The successful candidate will follow Mamoura British Academy 's behaviour management policy and promote its TRACK Values while maintaining high expectations for pupils.

Positive relationships with students and parents should underpin the management of behaviour and day-to-day classroom practice.

The role requires the postholder to model the attitudes, values and behaviour expected of pupils, undertake playground and other assigned duties in a punctual and proactive manner, and ensure concerns relating to behaviour and safeguarding are appropriately followed up and recorded on CPOMS.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor degree in Education, or a Bachelor Degree in a related subject with PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years teaching experience in the English National Curriculum.
  • Proven success teaching across the relevant age and ability range.
  • Leadership experience is desirable.
  • Experience working in more than one International School is desirable.
  • Strong commitment to education, teaching and the potential of every student.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development.
