Teaching experience in the English National Curriculum Job Type: Full Time Position Overview Aldar Education is seeking a passionate and experienced EAL and Modern Foreign Languages Teacher to join Cranleigh Abu Dhabi in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with an immediate start. The role requires a forward-thinking educator with experience of the English National Curriculum and the ability to teach French and Spanish from Year 6 through Year 13 while supporting students with English as an Additional Language.

The successful candidate will plan differentiated lessons, use assessment and performance data to strengthen student progress and create an engaging learning environment for different abilities and educational needs. The position also involves curriculum development, parent communication and active participation in Cranleigh Abu Dhabi 's wider co-curricular programme.

Responsibilities
  • Create a classroom climate that supports effective teaching and learning.
  • Establish clear teaching and learning objectives for lessons.
  • Set appropriate targets that build on prior student attainment.
  • Plan and deliver French and Spanish teaching from Year 6 through Year 13.
  • Support students with English as an Additional Language.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the British curriculum from Year 6 to Year 13.
  • Identify students with Special Educational Needs, People of Determination needs, EAL requirements and Gifted and Talented needs and provide appropriate differentiation.
  • Structure lessons and learning activities to maintain pace, challenge and engagement.
  • Plan and present learning sessions appropriate to the full ability range within assigned classes.
  • Organise classroom provision, resources and displays to maintain an engaging learning environment.
  • Use ICT effectively to enhance student learning and progress.
Assessment and Student Progress
  • Make effective use of assessment for learning.
  • Use performance data and key indicators to inform lesson planning.
  • Assess whether learning objectives have been achieved and use findings to improve teaching.
  • Mark student work regularly and establish progress targets in accordance with the school 's Marking Policy.
  • Assess and record student progress systematically.
  • Use performance information to inform planning, learning and intervention.
  • Undertake student assessments required by examination bodies, departmental procedures and school policies.
  • Prepare informative progress reports for parents.

The successful candidate will contribute to the continuing development of EAL and Modern Foreign Languages provision. This includes producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work and collaborating with colleagues to maintain effective teaching standards. Where required, the teacher will also work with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists and other professionals to support individual student needs.

The teacher will maintain discipline in accordance with the school 's Behaviour for Learning Policy and establish expectations that support effective learning. This includes encouraging appropriate standards of punctuality, behaviour, classwork and homework while creating a structured environment in which students can participate, progress and respond positively to academic challenge.
