Minimum 2 years experience in the same field Job Type: Full Time Position Overview Aldar Education is seeking an outstanding Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join Noya British School in Abu Dhabi, UAE, for the academic year. The role provides targeted classroom and learning support, particularly for students with Additional Educational Needs and Special Educational Needs, while working closely with teachers to improve access to learning, independence, confidence and academic progress.
The successful candidate will support differentiated teaching activities, prepare learning resources, reinforce classroom instruction and help students develop effective study and organisational skills. The position also requires close communication with teachers, parents and other members of the school community.

The Higher Level Teaching Assistant will develop an understanding of the Additional Educational Needs and Special Educational Needs of assigned students and provide appropriate support to help them participate successfully in lessons.
- Support students in accessing lessons and curriculum content through appropriate clarification and explanations.
- Adapt the use of equipment and learning materials according to identified student needs.
- Reinforce classroom learning and encourage greater independence.
- Assist students with physical needs where required.
- Help students record their work in an appropriate and accessible way.
- Develop students ' study and organisational skills.
- Help students remain focused on assigned activities and strengthen their motivation.
- Model positive learning practices and appropriate behaviour.
- Build student confidence and support the development of self-esteem.
- Develop respectful and consistent relationships with individual students and groups.
- Maintain appropriate communication with parents regarding student performance.
Close collaboration with classroom teachers is central to the position. The Higher Level Teaching Assistant will participate in formal and informal discussions regarding teaching and learning plans and provide practical support before, during and after classroom activities.
- Prepare materials and learning resources as required.
- Prepare students for upcoming tasks and activities.
- Work with identified groups on differentiated learning activities.
- Support teachers in implementing specific teaching techniques.
- Supervise practical tasks where required.
- Assist with maintaining records used to evaluate the progress of identified students.
- Coordinate with teachers regarding individual learning requirements and classroom support.
The successful candidate will contribute to the school 's overall vision, strategic priorities and relevant targets within its improvement and self-evaluation processes. The role requires compliance with school policies covering health and safety, safe working practices, equal opportunities, performance management, staff dress, identification requirements and acceptable use of technology. The Higher Level Teaching Assistant will attend required staff briefings and participate in annual child protection, safeguarding, health and safety training as well as other professional training identified for school improvement or performance management.
Qualificationsand Experience
- Two-year diploma or degree in Education or Special Needs Education, or a high school diploma with a Special Needs Education programme.
- Minimum 2 years experience in the same field.
- Experience supporting students and their individual learning requirements.
- Understanding of Additional Educational Needs and Special Educational Needs relevant to the responsibilities of the position.
- Clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check or police check.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop constructive relationships with students, teachers and parents.
