The teacher will take responsibility for delivering lessons that motivate students and support the best possible learning outcomes.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of the curriculum.
- Plan engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements.
- Prepare and present learning sessions appropriate to the full ability range within the class.
- Organise classroom provision, learning resources and displays to create a positive learning environment.
- Motivate pupils through enthusiastic and imaginative teaching.
- Observe and assess students in accordance with school assessment practices.
- Reflect on lessons, classroom provision and student progress.
- Adjust planning, curriculum delivery and the learning environment according to identified needs.
- Embed the school 's Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes throughout curriculum delivery.
- Work with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists and other professionals when required.
The teacher will take responsibility for the academic progress of an assigned class and use assessment information to strengthen subsequent teaching and intervention.
- Meet requirements for assessing and recording student development using Target Tracker.
- Use assessment data to inform future planning, provision and intervention.
- Monitor student progress against expected outcomes.
- Provide parents and carers with feedback during Parent Teacher Conferences and other appropriate meetings.
The successful candidate will communicate effectively with colleagues, students, parents and other members of the school community. The role involves collaborative lesson planning, flexible cooperation with colleagues and working with parents to support student well-being and academic achievement. Where applicable, the teacher will also work with curriculum support staff to address individual student development needs.

The teacher will participate in curriculum action groups and contribute to planning, assessment, resources and relevant special events. The position also involves supporting school events, outings and activities that may occasionally take place during evenings or weekends. Communication with parents and carers regarding student achievement and well-being will be maintained through appropriate school systems, including CPOMS where applicable. The successful candidate will contribute positively to the wider life and ethos of the school and run a weekly extracurricular activity each term.
Qualificationsand Experience
- Bachelor 's Degree in the related subject with PGCE or another recognised teacher qualification.
- Minimum 1-2 years teaching experience.
- Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
