Position Overview Aldar Education is seeking an outstanding UAE National Inclusion Assistant to join Al Rayana Charter School in Abu Dhabi, UAE, for an immediate start. The role provides individualized learning and inclusion support for pupils with additional needs, helping them participate fully in classroom activities and progress toward their individual education programme goals. Working closely with the Head of Inclusion, homeroom and subject teachers, the Inclusion Assistant will support pupils with academic, physical, emotional, behavioural, social and communication needs.

The role also involves preparing differentiated learning resources, supporting specialist interventions and promoting greater independence in the school environment.

Main Duties
  • Support individual pupils on a one-to-one basis or within groups, both inside and outside the classroom, enabling them to participate fully in activities throughout the school day.
  • Take a proactive approach to health and safety.
  • Assist with individual education programmes, link support to pupils ' IEP goals and contribute to monitoring their progress and attainment.
  • Support pupils with additional academic, physical, emotional and behavioural needs while helping develop their social and communication skills.
  • Assist homeroom and subject teachers with maintaining pupil records.
  • Prepare appropriate resources to help identified pupils access differentiated curriculum content and classroom learning.
  • Promote independence by teaching pupils clear and meaningful learning strategies.
  • Support the aims of the school and comply with health and safety requirements, the code of conduct, relevant legislation and school policies.
  • Maintain appropriate standards of dress, punctuality and attendance.
  • Attend training sessions and professional meetings as required.
  • Work with professionals such as speech therapists and occupational therapists when needed.
  • Build effective working relationships with homeroom and subject teachers through regular and open communication.
  • Undertake other relevant responsibilities as required by the Principal or Head of Inclusion.
Individual Learning Support
  • Follow confidentiality guidelines and recognize that formal communication with parents is managed by the Head of Inclusion, homeroom teachers and subject teachers.
  • Provide individual instruction as directed by the teacher and group instruction where appropriate.
  • Demonstrate instructional activities to support pupil learning.
  • Monitor assigned work and check or correct individual pupils ' work in accordance with school policy.
  • Help individual pupils and their peers remain focused on learning activities.
  • Recognize and reinforce pupil achievements and report progress to the teacher.
  • Prepare materials that scaffold individual pupils ' classroom learning.
  • Supervise pupils in classrooms, specialist lessons and other school locations.
  • Contribute to behaviour support, promote pupil self-esteem and address inappropriate behaviour in line with whole-school policy.
  • Attend and subsequently deliver interventions related to speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and applied behaviour analysis to help generalize and consolidate target skills.
  • Support extracurricular activities, school trips and visits.
  • Experienced Inclusion Assistants may be asked to mentor new Inclusion Assistants, while new team members may participate in mentoring.
Qualifications and Experience
  • SEN qualification
    - Diploma.
  • 2 years of SEN experience.
