Role Summary

AVP – Islamic Products (GTB & International Offerings). First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) seeks an experienced AVP to support and enhance its Islamic Banking proposition across Global Transaction Banking and international markets. This strategic role involves product ownership, regulatory alignment, Shariah compliance, and new product development, contributing to FAB’s leadership in Islamic finance.

• Lead the Islamic GTB product suite across assets, liabilities, and Global Market products in line with Shariah‑compliant structures.
• Design and develop new Islamic financial products based on client demand, market trends, and competitive benchmarking.
• Act as the primary contact for all matters related to Islamic banking product offerings across FAB, especially in international branches.
• Collaborate with Shariah Control, Legal, Compliance, IT, and Operations teams to ensure timely development and implementation of Islamic products.
• Support the Head of Islamic Products on strategic deliverables, urgent tasks, and high‑level projects.
• Prepare, review, and update SOPs, MIS reports, audit documentation, and regulatory submissions related to Islamic product lines.
• Stay up to date on AAOIFI standards, CBUAE HSA guidelines, and global Islamic banking regulatory developments.
• Train internal business units and stakeholders on Islamic banking principles, products, and documentation standards.
• Participate in joint client meetings to advise on product structuring and provide Shariah‑compliant solutions to sensitive or complex cases.
• Manage product profitability and performance metrics, incorporating customer feedback and market analysis into the Islamic product roadmap.

• Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Finance, Economics, Shariah, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Islamic banking or Islamic windows of financial institutions.
• Strong knowledge of Shariah principles, AAOIFI standards, and CBUAE Higher Shariah Authority (HSA) guidelines.
• In‑depth understanding of Islamic contracts (Murabaha, Ijarah, Mudarabah, Wakala, etc.) and their operational implementation.
• Financial analysis and accounting awareness in the context of Islamic product structuring.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with ability to lead cross‑functional discussions.
• High attention to detail and ability to deliver under tight deadlines.
