Position Overview

This Team Leader Internal Audit role focuses on planning and executing audits across Wholesale Banking, Investment Banking, Global Corporate Finance, Global Transaction Banking, and related credit activities within First Abu Dhabi Bank. The position leads audit assignments, strengthens governance and risk frameworks, and ensures high-quality assurance across UAE and international operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute end‑to‑end audits for Wholesale Banking, Investment Banking, GCF, GTB, and related credit portfolios
  • Ensure audits align with the Annual Audit Plan and meet required timelines and quality standards
  • Maintain the Audit Universe and risk assessments for all relevant business units
  • Review governance, risk management practices, operational controls, and product processes
  • Evaluate reliability, integrity, and availability of data and transaction processing
  • Assess safeguarding of assets and efficiency of resource utilization
  • Identify gaps and propose enhancements to the internal control environment
  • Review audit reports prepared by auditors, finalize findings, and agree action plans with management
  • Lead audit discussions with stakeholders and ensure timely closure of audit issues
  • Provide subject matter expertise on GCF, GTB, and credit risk audit areas
  • Support Head of Audit on special reviews, investigations, and compliance‑related assignments
  • Monitor performance against budgets and report variances
  • Deliver functional reports aligned with Group policies and standards
  • Promote teamwork, provide on‑the‑job coaching, and support knowledge sharing within the audit group
  • Keep audit plans and working programs updated based on regulatory changes and global best practices
  • Maintain strong business relationships across GCF, GTB, WB, IB Coverage, and Credit teams
  • Act as Audit Business Partner to senior stakeholders, identifying emerging risks and recommending improvements
  • Ensure continuous follow‑up on pending audit findings and implementation of corrective actions
  • Prepare MIS dashboards, audit presentations, and audit committee materials
  • Analyse asset quality, credit classification, provisioning, and early warning mechanisms
  • Maintain awareness of global economic trends, regulatory developments, and evolving banking practices
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree required; CA, MBA, CFA, FRM preferred
  • 10‑15 years of banking or Big 4 experience, with extensive exposure to GTB, GCF, IB, and credit functions
  • At least 5 years of experience in managerial or audit leadership roles
  • Strong understanding of product processes, credit risk frameworks, and associated operational risks
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with strong problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to handle complex audit assignments independently
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure
