Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations allowing for informed decision-making.
• Conduct detailed account reconciliations and variance analyses to identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures promptly.
• Manage the month‑end closing process ensuring adherence to timelines and accuracy of entries to maintain financial integrity.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts using historical data to support strategic financial planning and business growth.
• Coordinate audits by providing required documentation and insights ensuring transparency and adherence to accounting standards.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure reliability in financial reporting.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance metrics providing insights and recommendations to management for continuous improvement.
• Supervise junior accounting staff offering mentorship and training to foster professional growth and enhance team performance.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and best practices in accounting.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support financial initiatives and drive operational efficiencies.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; a Master's degree is a plus for advanced understanding.
• CPA certification is highly preferred, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and professional standards.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in a construction, contracting or public accounting environment.
• Experience in industry‑specific accounting practices, such as manufacturing or healthcare, is advantageous.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP, ERP) and advanced Excel skills to enhance analytical capabilities.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS regulations to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, enabling the candidate to navigate complex financial data effectively.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to articulate financial concepts clearly to non‑financial stakeholders.
