Lead Officer – Budgeting & Reporting
Location: Abu Dhabi – GAL HQ
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Lead Officer – Budgeting & Reporting to join our Financial Planning & Analysis team in Abu Dhabi. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting financial planning, budgeting, reporting, financial modeling, variance analysis, management reporting, and business planning activities. The role requires strong analytical ability, solid accounting and finance knowledge, and the capability to work closely with Project Managers, Project Controllers, the Head of FP&A, and the CFO.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed financial models for pricing, budgeting, benchmarking, and reporting purposes.
- Prepare monthly management reports in coordination with Project Controllers and Project Managers.
- Build strong working relationships with Project Managers to understand project operations and provide financial insights.
- Conduct research and prepare clear executive summaries for management review.
- Compile and analyze historical and current financial data to support budgeting and the company’s 5-year plan
. - Coordinate with various departments, including Human Resources and Project Managers, to formulate budgets.
- Prepare budget monitoring reports and provide clear explanations for budget variances.
- Support the implementation of budgets across the company.
- Periodically review project and operating budgets to identify trends affecting budget requirements.
- Prepare budget vs. actual variance reports
. - Prepare comparative cost analysis related to projects.
- Monitor administration costs against the approved budget and submit timely reports to the CFO to ensure costs remain within the budget cap.
- Assist in contract pricing activities.
- Participate in process improvement projects across the organization.
- Share knowledge and experience with colleagues and team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the CFO.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, budgeting, reporting, or a similar role.
- Professional accounting qualification, whether completed, semi-completed, or course completed, is preferred.
- CFA qualification is preferred.
- Strong experience in financial modeling, budgeting, reporting, variance analysis, and management presentations
. - Strong analytical, research, and financial reporting skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and Power Point .
- Good knowledge of MS Office and computer systems.
- Knowledge of Oracle Financials is an added advantage.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Analysts, Project Managers, Project Controllers, Head of FP&A, and CFO.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Arabic language knowledge is preferred.
