Accountant – Sonihull in Abu Dhabi
Sonihull, a member of the Alfa Laval group, is a global leader in ultrasonic anti-fouling and agitation systems. Our award-winning Sonihull technology is in use on more than 3,800 vessels worldwide, with a growing footprint in industrial applications such as oil and gas, aquaculture, and dairy.
We are looking for an experienced accountant to join our Abu Dhabi office. This role is responsible for accounting and reporting for the UAE ultrasonics business, improving procedures and systems in finance and providing assistance to the business controller. The role will report to the Business Controller, also based in Abu Dhabi.
YourKey Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate accounting records for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger, ensuring all transactions are verified, allocated, posted, and reconciled in accordance with accounting principles and reporting schedules.
- Prepare and present accounting reports and financial results to management, supporting month-end close and statutory requirements.
- Collaborate with local finance personnel and other relevant stakeholders to ensure effective financial operations and compliance.
- Support process improvement initiatives within the finance function, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, automation, and control.
- Assist with statutory reporting, VAT, and regulatory compliance for the UAE entity, maintaining documentation and supporting external audits as required.
- Utilize Xero and Salesforce to streamline workflows and maintain data integrity across accounting and order management processes.
- Proven experience in day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger, preferably within a UAE-based organization.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with a commitment to accuracy and quality in financial reporting.
- Technically minded, confident in using Xero, Salesforce, and Excel/Google Sheets; comfortable adopting new tools and technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements within finance operations.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Practical experience and capability are valued; formal qualifications are not required.
- Need Experience of 3 – 6 years in finance.
- Knowledge of Xero and Salesforce is advantageous.
