Participate in audits covering the activities and processes of Finance and Treasury (F&T) across the FAB Group. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of business‑relationship aspects, F&T control dynamics, risk management processes, and the regulatory environment in the UAE and other jurisdictions where FAB operates. Assist supervisors to perform audit activities in line with established internal audit plans, guidelines and procedures.

Key Accountabilities
  • Strategic Contribution – Assist in the audit of FAB Group’s Finance and Treasury functions and related activities in the UAE and across the international network, including Group Subsidiaries under Group Finance and Treasury governance.
  • Ensure audits are conducted in accordance with objectives laid down in the Annual Plan and that work programmes are completed efficiently and effectively on or ahead of schedule.
  • Inform Head of Audit of potential delays or changes to planned audits.
  • People Management – Promote knowledge sharing to facilitate achievement of team objectives and completion of tasks consistently with operating procedures and policy. Promote the organization’s values and ethics to support a value‑driven culture within the bank.
  • Budgeting and Financial Performance – Monitor financial performance of given areas versus budgets, report variances to management, and ensure activities comply with approved guidelines.
  • Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures – Execute to established GIA Policies, Guidance Notes, Procedures and Practice Notes; provide input to the development of GIA practices as per industry standards and regulatory expectations.
  • Audit Universe & Risk Assessment – Review activities of the Finance and Treasury portfolio in all operating jurisdictions to define and maintain the Audit Universe. Coordinate with other teams for coverage, assist supervisors in preparing and maintaining a risk assessment for each process stream, and update audit programs in the central audit management tool.
  • Conduct audits of processes within Finance and Treasury, assess risk identification and classification, and evaluate governance, risk management and control procedures for adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Ensure data and transaction processing meet standards of reliability, integrity and availability; safeguard unit assets and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Draft audit worksheets and issues; assist supervisors in discussion, finalisation and negotiation with unit management to agree a documented Management Action Plan.
  • Continuous Improvement – Assist supervisors in identifying changes through continuous improvement of processes and practices, considering global standards and business‑environment changes requiring proactive action plans.
  • Relationship Management – Maintain effective business relationships with all relevant external and internal stakeholders, attending promptly to critical issues to ensure services are delivered effectively.
  • Provide ongoing consultancy advice to unit management from a governance, risk‑management and control perspective.
  • Assist line managers in following up on pending audit issues and ensuring corrective actions are fully implemented.
  • Assist in investigations and special reviews assigned by Head of Audit GCAO.
  • Ensure all functional reports are prepared on time, accurately, and meet group requirements, policies and quality standards.

  • Plan each audit in detail by conducting risk assessments, developing understanding of activities, and allocating audit work to team members.
  • Ensure scope and terms of reference provide appropriate coverage; perform audits efficiently and effectively, focusing on identified risk areas.
  • Execute audits in accordance with approved audit programs, using internal and external resources as directed, within budget and time constraints.
  • Comply with policies and procedures in the GIA Manual, IIA standards and market best practices, producing timely reports during fieldwork.
  • Immediately report any loss of documents, misappropriation of funds, theft or fraud to GIA Senior Management; verify facts with unit management.
