Project Finance Senior Specialist

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Finance Senior Specialist to join our client's dynamic finance team. This critical role ensures accurate revenue recognition, maintains strong financial integrity, and ensures consistency in project‑related financial reporting across our complex defense and engineering projects.

• Apply IFRS 15 to complex project contracts, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and full compliance with accounting standards.
• Structure revenue recognition logic for project milestones, variations, and change orders.
• Support project margin reviews and monitor financial assumptions such as latest estimates and key cost drivers.
• Provide financial insights to Project Finance and project teams to support understanding of project financial performance.
• Prepare technical accounting documentation and support internal and external audits.
• Collaborate with Project Finance, Commercial Finance, and project teams to ensure financial data reflects project execution.
• Support alignment across the company’s entities when projects involve multi‑entity structures or cross‑entity collaboration.
• Contribute to improvements in SAP Project Systems and ensure alignment across MSP, SAP, and CRM data flows.
• Support the transition from manual financial processes to system‑driven controls and reporting.
• Define automation requirements and support the standardization of revenue recognition practices across projects.
• Assist in the preparation and validation of project financial information and reporting accuracy.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in project finance, financial analysis, or technical accounting in project‑based environments.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, particularly revenue recognition principles (IFRS 15).
• Hands‑on experience with SAP Project Systems module.
• Proven experience supporting financial analysis and project financial monitoring.
• Experience supporting financial audits and preparing technical financial documentation.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience in the defense, engineering, or construction sectors.
• Experience with ERP system implementation and process automation.

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams, including Project Management, Commercial Finance, and Accounting.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Self‑motivated with a proactive approach to process improvement.
