Job Purpose

  • Develop business across diverse markets and regions within all areas of private clients, family offices of UHNWI & HNWI, especially with different offshore and onshore locations ranging across numerous booking centers, which is highly competitive and appealing to the regional and international customer base of the CIS segment.
  • Achieve superior sales revenues and AUMs above predetermined targets and increase FAB’s market share in the CIS segment.
  • Provide clients with an above optimal level of service and full investment solutions.
  • Identify and segment target markets, develop business to widen portfolios and implement the strategic marketing plan for Private Banking.
  • Build and manage a portfolio of UHNWI & HNWI and provide maximum personalized services.
  • Maintain and expand current and future client base, acquire new business via referrals, contacts and marketing.
  • Proactively enhance PB’s offerings by initiating and supporting internal processes and workflows.
Job Context

Successful Private Bankers should be able to demonstrate hunting and farming capabilities to deliver AUMs and revenue streams based on the sophisticated private banking platform for CIS clientele.

Measured by private banking industry criteria:

  • AUMs (on‑balance sheet + off‑balance sheet)
  • Revenues

Measured by:

  • Number of new relationships opened (fresh funds to the FAB Group)
  • Number of new relationships transferred from within the FAB Group
  • Number of existing relationships managed with the primary goal of increasing wallet share

Via the private banking disciplines:

  • The trilogy of Private Banking:
    Banking, Fiduciary (wealth protection such as trusts, foundations offshore companies etc.), Portfolio Management (execution only, advisory & discretionary). This includes derivatives such as DCDs and other esoteric funds including aircraft operating leases and mezzanine debt.

Tasks
  • Maintain and develop a client base of HNWI & UHNWI, providing excellent service and obtaining new business via referrals and recommendations.
  • Manage specific projects end to end, liaising with group colleagues.
  • Develop new business through own sources, professional connections, and introductions via the bank.
  • Spot external and internal opportunities.
  • Coordinate and promote prospects with other RMs and group colleagues globally.
  • Promote cross‑selling between group branches/offices in the Gulf and elsewhere for the CIS segment.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with decision makers, turning relationships into referral sources.
  • Initiate proactive solutions, sales and market initiatives.
  • Participate in product development and marketing.
  • Solicit business primarily in the disciplines of the trilogy of Private Banking, including derivatives and other products.
  • Develop new investment relationships and attract new CIS clients to FAB, including key strategic clients such as directors of multinational companies and UAE/GCC/Sub‑Continent diasporas.
  • Provide advice and ultra‑high level solutions and service 24/7, 365 days a year, regardless of location.
  • Assess prospects with due‑diligence, KYC, OFAC, AML, and PEP considerations.
  • Assess financial needs, risk tolerances, and develop optimal investment solutions.
  • Ensure client relationships are monitored and reports are completed regularly (KYC, call reports, leverage/lending issues, interest charges, maturities, etc.).
  • Ensure portfolios are regularly screened for proper diversification, unless expressly requested not to be.
  • Perform other tasks as reasonably or unreasonably requested.
Job Knowledge
  • Detailed knowledge of FAB policies, procedures, anti‑money laundering requirements, OFAC, and ‘know your customer’ requirements in the international private banking market.
  • In‑depth knowledge of the trio of Private Banking disciplines:
    Banking, Investment/Portfolio Management & Fiduciary (wealth protection via offshore trusts, companies, foundations).
  • Solid understanding of varied offshore jurisdictions such as Switzerland, UK, US, Jersey, Cayman Islands, BVI, and free zones in the UAE/GCC.
