, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring robust tax governance and compliance across the Group. Working closely with the Group Tax Manager, you’ll take ownership of key Direct and Indirect Tax obligations, support the implementation of evolving tax regulations, and help strengthen ALEC’s tax processes in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
The Group Tax team is responsible for ensuring effective tax governance, compliance, and risk management across ALEC’s operations. The team works closely with finance, business stakeholders, and external advisors to navigate an evolving tax landscape, implement new regulations, and continuously enhance tax processes and controls. Collaboration, technical depth, and proactive problem‑solving sit at the core of how we work.
Your RoleAs a Tax Analyst – Senior
, you will:
Independently manage Direct and Indirect Tax compliance across the UAE and KSA, under the oversight of the Group Tax Manager, including:
- Pillar Two compliance (GloBE, GIR, QDMTT)
- Corporate Tax and Zakat
- Withholding Tax
- VAT and e‑Invoicing
- Tax provisions and deferred tax computations
- Country‑by‑Country Notification and Reporting (CbCR)
Manage tax administration activities, including:
- Handling tax audits, assessments, and reconciliations
- Managing tax authority portals, registrations, and deregistrations
- Managing refund claims and ongoing e‑Invoicing compliance
- Supporting day‑to‑day tax advisory matters with internal and external stakeholders
- Performing monthly and quarterly tax reconciliations
Provide strategic and regulatory support by:
- Supporting the implementation of new tax regulations across the Group, including Pillar Two and UAE e‑Invoicing
- Assisting with tax impact assessments and ongoing compliance obligations
- Providing technical tax guidance and training to internal teams
- Supporting business users in understanding and applying tax regulations
- Monitoring regulatory developments and preparing the business for future changes
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, management, and external parties including tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities
- Apply strong analytical skills, leveraging advanced Excel and ERP systems to interpret financial data for tax reporting and compliance
- Support initiatives to enhance tax processes, controls, and systems
- Proactively identify tax risks, compliance gaps, and process improvement opportunities
- Take full ownership of responsibilities with a proactive, solution‑oriented mindset
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet business needs
- Professional qualification in Accounting, Tax, or a related field (CA, ACCA, CPA, CTA, or equivalent)
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in Direct and Indirect Tax, preferably within the Middle East (UAE and/or KSA)
- Strong hands‑on experience in Corporate Tax, Zakat, VAT, and Withholding Tax
- Working knowledge of Pillar Two (GloBE, QDMTT), Transfer Pricing, and Country‑by‑Country Reporting (practical filing experience preferred)
- Experience managing tax audits, assessments, and interactions with tax authorities
- Proven ability to manage tax compliance independently with appropriate escalation
- Strong technical knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements
- Advanced analytical and data‑handling skills
- Experience with tax portals, e‑Invoicing systems, and ERP environments
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Proactive, self‑motivated, and solution‑oriented with a strong sense of ownership
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
