Responsibilities- To develop and maintain Operational & Market Risk policies and procedures which comply with leading practices and laws and regulations in order to ensure that policies and procedures are applied consistently.
- Identify, assess, monitor, mitigate and report on Operational risk in the Bank through appropriate tools to better manage the bank's exposure to Operational risk.
- Oversee the development of the bank's Market and Operational Risk framework which aims to set out the principles, methodology and techniques in order to establish effective market and operational risk management.
- Ensure the implementation of ‘early warning systems’ that highlight possible deterioration in the treasury and investment portfolios to initiate corrective actions on a timely basis.
- Identify, assess, monitor, mitigate and report on Market and ALM risks in the Bank through appropriate tools to better manage the bank's exposure to Market and ALM risk.
- Review bank-wide policies and procedures with respect to market and operational risks. Identify control weaknesses and suggest adequate controls.
- Monitor organizational KRIs and operational loss data management to manage the bank's loss exposure. Oversee information security incident response planning as well as the investigation of information security breaches, and assist with disciplinary and legal matters associated with such breaches as and when necessary.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of Operational Loss Database and Near Loss Database and ensure consistent monitoring and reporting of operational risks across the Bank so as to embed operational risk reporting in Bank’s culture.
- Ensure the implementation of ‘early warning systems’ that highlight possible deterioration in the treasury and investment portfolios to initiate corrective actions on a timely basis.
- Monitor coverage of ALM risk and report to management on potential losses in order to prevent future losses and events from occurring.
