Role Overview
Lunate is seeking a dynamic individual to bolster the Valuations Team, providing comprehensive assistance in Investment Portfolio Valuations, conducting Valuation Reviews, and adeptly managing the needs of both Internal and External stakeholders regarding Valuations. The focus of this role lies in conducting Valuations and Valuation Reviews and reporting exclusively for Financial and Investor Reporting purposes, ensuring accuracy and transparency throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in development of financial models to conduct comprehensive valuations of investment stakes, encompassing equity, debt, SAFE, convertibles, and other instruments within privately owned companies.
- Assist in the quarterly valuation procedures, offering insightful analysis to proactively identify significant valuation fluctuations and their underlying drivers.
- Assist in management of the external valuation process and maintain collaborative relationships with advisors and auditors to ensure accurate and reliable valuation outcomes.
- Research, assess, and appraise investments within Lunate’s diverse portfolio spanning various asset classes and sectors.
- Collaborate closely with investment professionals across all asset classes to orchestrate the quarterly valuation process, fostering cross‑functional synergy with other departments.
- Assist in the preparation of detailed periodic valuation presentations to senior management and various stakeholders.
- Cultivate and sustain effective cross‑functional relationships with Finance, Operations, and other pertinent departments to facilitate seamless coordination and execution of valuation activities.
- Stay abreast of industry advancements in valuation practices, engage with General Partners and other relevant stakeholders and integrate leading market practices.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of Valuation experience, ideally obtained from reputable firms such as Big4 or specialized Valuation advisory is essential.
- Bachelor’s/master’s degree in finance or accounting or commensurate professional qualifications such as CA/CPA. Additional certifications like CFA, FRM, CBV, CAIA is advantageous.
- Practical experience in valuing private companies across various lifecycle stages, including both early and mature phases.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and valuation standards and guides in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), ensuring accuracy and compliance in valuation methodologies.
- Experience in collaborating with auditors to substantiate valuation analyses, displaying a capacity to effectively communicate and defend valuation conclusions.
- Experience with Power BI/ other visualization software is welcomed.
- Highly organized, attention to details, and the ability to produce high-quality work under pressure and with time‑sensitive deadlines.
- Ability to coordinate between multiple stakeholders and effectively project manage deliverables.
