Job Description & How to Apply Below

Freedom Broker Global Markets is a subsidiary of Freedom Holding Corp. (FRHC), a NASDAQ-listed diversified financial services group.

The company operates under a financial services permission granted by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), specialising in brokerage and investment services.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced risk leader to take ownership of the brokerage's overall risk function, with particular depth in client trading exposures, margin lending, and execution-related risk. The successful candidate will build and run the governance framework that keeps the firms risk-taking aligned with its regulatory obligations and board-approved appetite, while acting as the primary bridge between the dealing desk, client-facing teams, senior management, the Board, and regulators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain the brokerage's risk governance framework, including policies, escalation procedures, and committee structures.
  • Chair or run the firm's risk committee, ensuring timely and substantive reporting to executive management and the Board.
  • Set and enforce exposure limits across client and proprietary trading books, including margin and counter party exposures, and monitor adherence on an ongoing basis.
  • Lead scenario analysis and stress-testing programmes covering client positions, margin financing, and market moves that could threaten the firm's capital base.
  • Own the firm's internal capital and risk assessment processes, ensuring they remain fit for purpose as the brokerage's client base and product offering evolve.
  • Serve as the firm's primary point of contact with UAE regulators (e.g. ADGM or DIFC) on risk-related matters, examinations, and periodic reporting obligations.
  • Build, mentor, and manage a team of risk officers, distributing coverage across asset classes and client segments.
  • Review new products, large client trades, and margin arrangements for their risk implications before approval.
  • Oversee counter party and settlement risk arising from execution, clearing, and custody relationships.
  • Present risk positions, trends, and emerging concerns to senior stakeholders through clear, decision-ready reporting.
  • Oversee the operational risk framework, including incident and loss-event tracking, control self-assessments, and remediation follow-through.
  • Coordinate business continuity and third-party/vendor risk oversight in conjunction with relevant control functions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in a risk discipline within brokerage, banking, or asset management
  • Demonstrated ownership of exposure limits, margin frameworks, stress-testing, and capital adequacy processes at an institutional level.
  • Direct experience presenting to and advising boards, executive committees, or equivalent senior governance bodies.
  • Comfort engaging with regulators and shaping a firm's response to supervisory expectations, ideally with prior exposure to the UAE regulatory landscape (e.g. ADGM or DIFC).
  • Track record of building or substantially improving risk infrastructure, reporting tooling, or analytical capability.
  • Working knowledge of operational risk practices (incident management, control assessments, loss-event reporting)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in English. Knowledge of Russian and/or Arabic would be an advantage

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification in risk management, investment analysis, or quantitative finance is strongly preferred.
  • Postgraduate business education (MBA or equivalent) an advantage.

Why Join Freedom?

  • Be part of a growing, international financial services group
  • Dynamic work culture with strong executive exposure
  • Opportunities to join an expanding team across a developing regional network
